Chart types: highlighted tables

A great combination of chart and table (Chable?), the Highlighted Table is often the best choice for visualising your data. This is especially true if you have many data points – in the example below, the large collection of UK regions and monthly time segments would completely overwhelm a standard chart.

What you’re seeing below is a visualisation of monthly house price fluctuations, split by UK region. Grab that horizontal scrollbar and have a play! If you’re on a mobile or tablet, just swipe the data left / right. Particularly check out the price crash of 2008: represented by a sea of (blood?) red.
